Gothic Metal band Lacuna Coil has announced they are recording a new album, there album Dark Adrenaline which was released back in January 2012 was a huge success. Don’t you worry you Coiler’s Lacuna Coil announced on there Facebook page they are working with producer Jay Baumgardner he has previously worked with bands Sevendust, Papa Roach and Evanescence. They are going to guest in the Metal Female Voices Festival.

AMON AMARTH VOCALIST CAST AS VIKING WARRIOR IN ‘NORTHMEN – A VIKING SAGA’ MOVIE

The makers of the upcoming film ‘Northmen – A Viking Saga’ have just made a phenomenal casting decision. While searching for actors to play Viking warriors, the filmmakers had the following epiphany: “Why don’t we just bring in a real Viking?” And that they did, as Amon Amarth vocalist Johan Hegg has been recruited to play the role of a brutal warrior.

Hegg will know be known as Valli in ‘Northmen – Viking Saga,’ which is currently in pre-production in South Africa. The Amon Amarth vocalist will surely be able to bring a unique sense of depth to his on-screen character as Hegg’s lyrics focus heavily on the subject of Vikings and Norse mythology.

“The mythology behind our Viking heritage is engrained in everything we do and it is awesome to have the opportunity to be part of ‘Northmen – A Viking Saga,” says Hegg, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “This is going to be one epic adventure and I cannot wait to be on set with my co-stars and this fantastic filmmaking team!”

A description of the upcoming film reads:

"A band of Vikings are stranded behind enemy lines on the coast of Alba as their longboat goes down in a dreadful storm. Their only chance of survival is to find a path to the Viking settlement, Danelag, traversing an unfamiliar and hostile land they have never known. The journey becomes a race for their lives when the King of Alba sends his most feared mercenaries after them. But when the Vikings meet a kind Christian Monk who preaches with his sword, the hunters become the hunted as the Vikings set deadly traps, mercilessly decimating their pursuers one by one, culminating in a final and deadly encounter."

The movie will star Ryan Kwanten, who is known for playing Jason Stackhouse on HBO’s ‘True Blood.’ For more info on ‘Northmen – A Viking Saga,’ check out the film’s official Facebook page. Amon Amarth’s ninth studio album, ‘Deceiver of the Gods,’ is available now.

10. Promises

If you are a Megadeth purist, “Promises” probably isn’t even on your radar. It’s a nice little ballad about two star-crossed lovers — cheesy as all get out, but (and?) I sing it in the shower all the time. Definitely the highlight of a mostly mediocre album.

9. Good Mourning/Black Friday
I kind of want to get “paint the devil on the wall” tattooed somewhere on my body, is that wrong? It strikes me as the perfect way to express havoc-wreaking. Maybe I’m just a fangirl, but “Good Mourning/Black Friday” embodies the chaos of the early Megadeth years in a way that makes my ears very happy.

Drunk driving is wrong and bad and no one should ever, EVER do it, but Megadeth make it sound so good, don’t they?

7. Last Rites/Loved To Deth

Megadeth’s very first song is unsurprisingly a good one! I know I was born significantly later than Killing Is My Business was released, but I long for the old days when I hear the stuff from Megadeth’s fast-paced frenetic beginnings.

6. Hook In Mouth

F is for fucking hell I love this song, R is for really this song is so beyond awesome, E is for elation that I experience when I listen to this song…okay, I’m done with this silliness. Bottom line, this track was the perfect way to end So Far So Good…So What. I’m just old enough to barely remember the PMRC (mostly because my then-teenage uncle listened to gangsta rap), but the anti-censorship message can be understood by the Internet generations too.

5. Lucretia

This is the second time “Lucretia” has made it onto a HearEvil list. The only reason it’s not higher up is because the instrumental outro is kind of long, but I loved this song enough to name my guitar after it. Rust In Peace is classic all-around, which brings me to the next song on the list…

4. Rust In Peace…Polaris

The entire peak of NICK MENZA’s career, right here. Really, everyone shines in this song, and the verse riff is a real earworm, but the drumming particularly stands out.

3. Youthanasia

What I love most about this song is how uncannily relevant it still is, even 18 years later. Once upon a time, Dave Mustaine wasn’t a total nutjob — he actually had real and rational opinions on things like war, social injustice, and the sociopolitical climate. The song’s tone matches the serious mood of the song, and Mustaine’s…sanity keeps it from seeming maudlin.

2. Architecture Of Aggression

Megadeth’s best songs are the ones about violence. Think about it. “Architecture Of Aggression” is one example, but there are so very many others. “Sleepwalker” and “Play For Blood” from United Abominations come to mind first, but “Architecture Of Aggression” is about wholesale brutality — nothing personal, just straight-up genocide. I can’t get enough of it.

1. Chosen Ones

“Chosen Ones” is not only my favorite Megadeth song, it might actually be my favorite thrash song ever (eeeeeeh, let me give Exodus’s “Bonded By Blood” another listen before I commit to that statement). It’s nothing about anything particularly relevant, it’s just plain old awesome. Short, sweet, and uncomplicated, this little ditty tops the list because it’s just so easy to enjoy.

In short, happy birthday Dave Mustaine. I still hate you, but your music brings me endless joy so I’m celebrating your birthday the only way I know how.

Great, now we feel ancient. Above is a photo of the School Of Rock cast as they all look now. The team reunited to celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary this October, and the cast and crew got together for a screening at the Austin Film Festival, where they posed for pictures and jamed together. 2003's SCHOOL OF ROCK stars Jack Black as a wannabe rock star in need of cash who poses as a substitute teacher at a prep school and tries to turn his class into a rock band. BWW reported back in April that Andrew Lloyd Webber is securing the rights to the film for a stage adaptation.

TesseracT seem to be on the road all the time, and probably will be for the next forever or so. The last Opeth release, "Heritage", saw the Swedish prog metallers going in a completely new direction, resulting in some of the most mixed fans' reactions we got to see in a while. The group has detached themselves from their death metal past and went for a more experimental approach, changing their sound in various new ways.
The band frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt has offered an update on the progress of the Swedish titans’ follow-up to supremely proggy 2011 opus, Heritage.

“We’ve been looking at Rockfield Studios in Wales where Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody, but we haven’t made a decision yet,” Åkerfeldt tells Expressen. “But it will be an expensive album. There’s a lot going on, lots of string arrangements that we haven’t had in the past.

“Will it be heavier than Heritage? Maybe a little bit heavier,” Mikael adds. “Not death metal heavy, but hard rock/heavy metal heavy. There’s also lots of progressive elements and acoustic guitars, but also more sinister-sounding riffs.”
